Calculator and quiz inputs

Calculator and quiz inputs are processed in your browser wherever practical. The site does not intentionally store the values you enter into these interactive tools unless a future feature clearly tells you otherwise before submission.

Analytics

The site may use Google Analytics 4 after analytics is configured. Analytics can collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from network information, device and browser characteristics, referring pages and interaction events. The site uses this information to understand which tools and resources people use and to improve the website.

The site does not intentionally send the values you enter into calculators as analytics event parameters.

Contact form

If you contact the site, the form can collect your name, email address, subject and message. This information is used to read and respond to your enquiry, handle correction reports and prevent abuse. Do not submit sensitive personal, medical, financial or confidential information through the general contact form.

Spam prevention

The contact form can use Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce automated spam. When Turnstile is enabled, Cloudflare may process technical information needed to provide its security service under its own privacy terms.

Cookies and local storage

The core calculators do not require an account. The site may use cookies or similar browser storage where technically necessary for security, form protection, analytics preferences or other clearly described site functions.

Server logs

Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may keep security and access logs containing information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, user agent and response status. These logs are used for security, diagnostics and reliable operation and are retained according to hosting and operational requirements.

Pages may link to scientific institutions, government agencies, standards organisations and other external sources. Their websites have their own privacy practices. Following an external link moves you outside The Science of Heat.

Children

The site provides general educational material and does not require children to create accounts. The contact form is not intended to collect personal information from children who cannot legally provide it in their jurisdiction.
